GCAAR Bids Coastal Farewell After Six Years of
Service As you may know, the
Greater Capital Area Association of REALTORS® (GCAAR) has
managed the Coastal Association of REALTORS® (CAR) for more
the than six years, providing various administrative,
accounting and member services. During this time the Coastal
Association has flourished.
On May 23, 2007, GCAAR gave notice to
terminate its management of the Coastal Association of
REALTORS®. In accordance with the agreement, GCAAR will
continue to provide management services for a period of 120
days and will give all possible assistance to ensure a smooth
transition, and in locating a replacement association
executive or management company.
GCAAR has been proud of its partnership with
CAR. Since 2001, the association has been very ably managed by
GCAAR and Chuck Ebert, CAE, RCE, an experienced, respected,
and nationally recognized association executive with 25 years
of service to REALTOR® organizations. With his assistance and
guidance, the association’s Board of Directors has increased
the total assets of the association by 53% over the last six
years, which includes approximately $400,000 in cash reserves
and the debt-free ownership of association offices. Your Board
and staff have received compliments statewide and nationally
on the increased level and quality of services provided by the
association and the increased participation and visibility of
the membership in community and legislative affairs.
Additionally, CAR’s communications with its members and the
public have been taken to a new level. The association’s
Bylaws and MLS Rules & Regulations have been continuously
reviewed and updated in order to maintain compliance and
certification with MAR and NAR.
It is the consensus of the GCAAR leadership
that CAR is well positioned to continue to move forward, and
this is an opportune time to make this shift. GCAAR realizes
that CAR is in the process of evaluating its MLS and lockbox
vendor options. They are confident that the association’s
leadership has the necessary tools to assure a “perfect fit”
for its members, now and for the future.
GCAAR and Chuck Ebert wish the
association every success in its future endeavors, and look
forward to a continued professional relationship.
